Originally born and raised in Ontario, Jeremy moved to British Columbia in September 2018, where he now calls Kelowna home. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in History at Brock University, Jeremy decided to pursue a career in the mental health and addictions fields by completing his Bachelor of Social Work degree at Lakehead University. Jeremy worked in Ontario for three years, during which time he also volunteered with the Niagara Distress Centre Crisis Line and the Mental Health and Addictions Access Line. However, Jeremy decided to expand his experience and education by moving to Kelowna, British Columbia for his Master of Social Work degree at University of British Columbia, which he completed in 2019. Since then, Jeremy has focused on providing counselling services to youth, adults and families who are struggling with trauma, addictions, family conflict, relationships, shame, depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. Jeremy is also a Registered Social Worker with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.

In his counselling practice, Jeremy seeks to create a safe, warm, empathetic, and collaborative experience with an understanding that people are the experts of their own lives and an appreciation of their courage to reach out for support. Jeremy believes that having a deeper understanding of ourselves allows us to see our challenges in a new light and be able to work through these obstacles in our lives. As such, Jeremy’s goal is that individuals may leave their sessions with a new sense of hope and appreciation for themselves, an increased awareness and mindfulness of their holistic (physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual) selves, and equipped with the tools and skills to be able to live their lives fully in the present moment.

Outside of counselling, you may spot Jeremy enjoying indoor rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, playing sports, reading at a local bakery and coffee shop, or exploring the great outdoors and nature that British Columbia has to offer.
